Jesus nailed to the Cross

openingWe adore You O Christ and we praise You (Genuflex)

R: Because by your holy Cross You have redeemed the world

A reading from the Holy Gospel according to Luke: (23:32-36) .

Two others, who were also criminals, were led away to be put to death with him. When they came to the place that is called the Skull, they crucified Jesus there with the criminals, one on his right and one on his left. Then Jesus said, “Father, forgive them; for they do not know what they are doing.” And the people stood by watching; but the leaders scoffed at him, saying, “He saved others; let him save himself ,if he is the Messiah of God, his chosen one!” The soldiers also mocked him, coming up and offering him sour wine, and saying, “If you are the King of Jews, save yourself”

Reflection

Although  Jesus was Master of Heaven and earth, who had the power to rule  the universe, was obedient  even to those who wanted to crucify him.  He showed his humility and obedience even at end of his life. If we really want  to be followers of Christ, we should do our best to imitate him especially in these two virtues.

Silence…..Our Father, Hail Mary, Glory be

Let us pray

Lord Jesus Christ, who was obedient up to the end of your life, even accepting death, death on the cross, help me to destroy the pride that reigns over my heart and teach me to obey all those who have the right to command me.    Amen.

  •  O my Jesus,  forgive us our sins, preserve  us  from the  fire of Hell, lead all  souls to Heaven,  especially those in need of Thy mercy.
  •  My God, I believe, I adore, I hope and l love You.  I beg pardon for those who do not Believe, do not adore, do not hope, and do not love youclosing
